Old Russian To New Mexico: Travelogue?

As I am looking at some photos of places to visit while on a trip to Santa Fe, I thought maybe I’ll take my blogging on the road, but then after I wrote the subject-line the idea lost its appeal, so here are some photos of this strange place called New Mexico (reminds me of Mr. Burns’ exclamation: “Hold on there, pally! There’s New Mexico?”) that I’m looking forward to seeing:

Santa Fe Opera Announces 2009 Season.

Santa Fe Opera has been gathering some great reviews over the years and, when it comes to new music, it has become one of the premier houses in the U.S. This year it will feature the first US performance of Kaija Saariaho’s opera Adriana Mater and next year they will feature a new opera by Paul Moravec. The treat of the summer will be Natalie Dessay who recently appeared in La Fille du Regiment in the Met’s HD Broadcast.

If you’re heading to Santa Fe this summer, let me know as I will be there for 7/2 Falstaff and 7/4 Marriage of Figaro. To borrow an expression from Shahar: “Aces!”
