La Commune (Peter Watkins, 2002)

I finally got Peter Watkins’ La Commune (2002) – 5 hours! Would like to watch it this weekend. The Paris Commune is of course an inspiration to many people, except for the bourgeois pseudo-intellectuals who like to claim that nothing will really ever change because capitalism is just too strong and so on. They’ve been quieter than usual lately but they are coming back again. Mostly their views are based on their selective ignorance of history – nothing ever changes for them, thus nothing ever changes, period. They are always proven wrong and yet they never learn.

I’ll share my experience of the film once I’m done…
