Со времен Диогена Лаэртского историко-философский дискурс по сути мало изменился. За фасадом изощренных терминологических конструкций по-прежнему скрывается простое и понятное человеческое любопытство и желание знать кто, кого, когда и за что любил (или не любил), и чем все это закончилось. Всякий философ, вступая в диалог с традицией, вычерчивает свою собственную историю философии, в которой он отдает должное и предъявляет претензии тем фигурам, без которых его сегодняшняя мысль попросту не могла бы состояться. Особенной привилегией здесь, как правило, пользуются фигуры недавнего прошлого, поэтому наш разговор мне хотелось бы начать с вопроса о вашем отношении к двум «магистральным» представителям недавней французской мысли — к Делезу и Деррида. Is there an english translation?
Zizek’s statement is only a rhetoric to provoke us. If it is said that philosophy ends with Hegel, todays no philosophy exists. But it is clearly impossible.

Orlando, I don’t think there’s an English translation – Logos did several interviews with Zizek and I know that most were conducted in English, but this one doesn’t have a note indicating a translator – does Zizek speak Russian? Probably, although not to an extend of his demonstrated ability in this interview, I would think, but then who knows?
Muhammad, it is certainly a provocation of sorts, but then again, I think, Zizek’s and other people’s points concerning today’s philosophical preoccupations seem to be saying that we’re never really gotten to “real” philosophical issues before Kant and they were over by the time of Hegel, but of course what defined “philosophy” from Kant to Hegel is also a peculiar theme. Zizek, I think, for all of his idiosyncrasies, provokes genuine interest in discussing philosophy and theory – like it or not…
